Swanirvar Bangladesh started Micro Credit Program for poverty alleviation since 1978. The objective of this program is to reduce poverty and to increase GDP, create job opportunity for unemployed men & women and empowerment of women for sustainable socio-economic development. Swanirvar credit program is operated through three Nationalised Commercial Banks (NCB) are Sonali, Janata, Agrani and two specialised Banks are Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) and Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB).

Swanirvar Credit Program is implementing through the approval of Ministry of Finance and Bangladesh Bank. All the Commercial Banks (Sonali, Agrani and Janata), Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank are the participating Banks in this program. For the policy matters and guiding factors, the Governing Body of Swanirvar Bangladesh is playing significant role. In the field level of Swanirvar credit program, 30 Regional Officers, 145 Unit Manager and 1050 Credit Supervisors are working. For strengthening the monitoring process and reporting work, 30 computers have been provided to 30 Regional Offices. At central level, a Credit Management Committee (CMC) is set up for reviewing the performance of the program for better improvement. Each and Every Week Swanirvar Advisory Committee meeting held for reviewing the performance of the program and advice for the improvement of the program. Besides, Swanirvar Bangladesh started computerised reporting system Expert Micro Credit System (EMCS) since 2003 and started IT Division on April 2008 getting more analytical information for smooth operation of the Micro Credit Program and supports other project.
